Abstract
In this globalised and competitive environment, the effective management of product, information and cash flows are essential to supply chain success (Chopra and Mendl, 2013). Many logistics functions are now being outsourced to third-party logistics (3PL) service providers. One compelling reason for logistics outsourcing is that it allows businesses to concentrate on their core competencies.
